August House League starts this week

Monday the 5th marks the start of our in-house baseball league for August!  There are 4 divisions of play, with 2 teams per division.  However, with everyone’s vacation schedules and the typical turnout we have from our players, teams will be formed at game-time so that we can ensure that both sides have an even roster of players.  We ask that on game days, you have your player report to their field and start to warm up in the outfield.  From there, our coaches will create rosters and get the games running.

Teams have been built with ages and skill sets in mind, same as in our Spring season.  The games will be managed in the same way, some with tees:

Jaguars and Saints – T-Ball
Ravens and Steelers – A Ball
Cowboys and Eagles – AA Ball (Junior division)
Bills and Patriots – AAA Ball (Senior division)

If you have a player assigned to a team where you feel their skill-set does not apply, please let us know and we can consider moving them.  We ask that parents and coaches make the determination that a player can be safe both for themselves and others if they are to play outside of their assigned division.

The Jaguars, Saints, Ravens and Steelers all meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.  This Monday we will hand out shirts to those players.  Cowboys, Eagles, Bills and Patriots will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays and will receive their shirts on Tuesday.  We do not have hats to offer, so players should bring one of their own, along with a baseball glove.  We will provide the helmets, equipment, bats and baseballs.

For Volunteer Coaches:

Thank-you as always for your time and efforts.  We will need you all to work together to help your players’ games run smoothly.  As noted above, we ask you to organize teams at game-time based on the available players and to do so in a fair manner with the goal being a fun and competitive game.  We will provide equipment as noted above as well as a score book.  The rules for both the Senior and Junior divisions can be found on our website at Policies and Procedures under the House League section.  T-Ball will be 6 innings of tee and A Ball will be a combination of tee and coach-pitch.

NOTE:  If any of you is volunteering for the first time, please let us know as we will need you to fill out a volunteer form and a CORI form.  We must have all adults who will be interacting with your players complete these forms in order to be compliant and to protect the safety of our players.
