Parkway Little League participates in the Suburban Youth Baseball League, for ages 9-12, and the Friendship League for age 8. Both of these programs are tryout-based programs in which Parkway teams compete against the same age teams from neighboring towns. Teams are formed at the 12U, 11U, 10U, 9U, and 8U levels.
Program Details:
1) Summer Travel Baseball consists of approximately 10 regular season games and playoffs at each level. Regular season games are mid-week in the evening from mid-June until late-July. Playoffs occur in early August. Away games involve travel to neighboring towns including Needham, Walpole, Medfield, Westwood, etc.
2) Summer Travel will include participating in the Mayor's Cup for agest 9-12, which is typically held over the course of a week with finals over a weekend in mid-to-late July.
3) Summer Travel may have a few practices to begin the season, but once the season gets going, practices are typically limited.
4) Summer Travel requires a player/parent commitment. While we do understand summer vacations happen, the coaching staff would expect players to be at a majority of games. Missing in excess of 2-3 games will create a burden on teams.
Registration and Tryouts:
Registration typically opens in late May, with tryouts and team selection in early June.
